CALL FOR WITNESSES ON HB 191.

HB 191 has been added to the House hearing schedule for this week. Under the provisions of HB 191, a city which collects over $100 million per year in municipal income taxes (Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toledo and Dayton) would have to remit 25% of the taxes collected to the home municipality or township of all commuters who come into one of those five cities for work.

On Thursday (October 25) of this week, the House Ways and Means Committee will hold a second hearing on this very important bill. The hearing will be in House Hearing Room 121 at 9:15 a.m. The hearing is open to proponent, opponent and interested party witnesses.

If you wish to testify on this bill, please, let us know and be at the hearing on Thursday.

The League has outlined its grave concerns about this bill in the past (Bulletin No. 20), but the committee needs to hear from municipal officials on this extremely important legislation. We hope some municipal officials will be able to testify at this upcoming hearings.
