Jordan, 466-7584), North Hearing Rm., 9 a.m. SB 157 MOBILE PHONE USAGE (Fedor) To prohibit any person from operating a moving vehicle and simultaneously using a mobile telephone that is not capable of being operated in a hands-free manner other than to report an emergency, to prohibit without exception any person with a temporary instruction permit from operating a moving vehicle and simultaneously using a mobile telephone, to create the offense of inattentive driving, and to require the State Highway Patrol to compile monthly data and statistics on motor vehicle accidents in which mobile telephone use was a material factor. (1st Hearing-Sponsor) SB 292 CONCEALED WEAPONS (Miller, R.) To permit political subdivisions to prohibit the carrying of concealed handguns in any park, swimming pool, sports field, or other outdoor premises or property owned, leased or otherwise under the control of the political subdivision. (1st Hearing-Sponsor) SB 322 DRIVING PRIVILEGES (Gardner) To require a court to impose a lifetime driver's license suspension for attempted murder by means of a motor vehicle, felonious assault using a motor vehicle and aggravated vehicular homicide and vehicular homicide under certain circumstances; to permit a court to impose a lifetime driver's license suspension for aggravated vehicular assault and to establish that driving under these specified lifetime suspensions is a felony of the third degree. (2nd Hearing-Proponent)

Goodman, 466-8064), North Hearing Rm., 11 a.m. HB 9 PUBLIC RECORDS LAW (Oelslager) To revise the Public Records Law, to create the office of Public Access Counselor in the Court of Claims, to create a library records commission in each public library and a special taxing district records commission in each special taxing district, to allow a concealed carry licensee to prohibit the disclosure of the licensee's information to a journalist, to revise the records commissions laws, and to eliminate the provision that certain records made by a public accountant incident to an audit of a public office or private entity are not public records. (3rd Hearing-All testimony) SB 333ACCIDENT CLEARING (Schuler) To permit local law enforcement agencies and fire departments to remove motor vehicles from the roadway after a motor vehicle accident and to provide immunity to local law enforcement agencies and fire personnel for the removal of damaged or inoperable vehicles and roadways.
