SERB-FEES FOR FACT FINDERS & CONCILIATORS
Recently the State Employment Relations Board reached the following
decisions. First, effective for cases assigned on or after March 1,
2006, the per diem rate ceiling for fact finders and conciliators will
be raised to $700 per day. Second, also effective for cases assigned on
or after March 1, 2006, the neutral may impose reasonable cancellation
fees up to and including this new maximum rate by informing the parties
of his/her cancellation policy in the rate sheet provided to the parties
through SERB. Finally, the Board instructed SERB staff to research,
analyze, and report back to the Board within the next two months on the
feasibility of amending O.A.C. Rule 4117-9-01 (C) to eliminate SERBs
role in setting the per diem limits on neutrals. |

FYI - BID LIMIT INCREASED
The League is still getting questions concerning the increase in bid limits. The increases
were in included in HB95, the Biennial Budget Bill. The limit for when cities and villages
must put purchases out for competitive bids (the bid limit) was raised from $15,000 to
$25,000. This change, inserted at the request of the League took effect September 26,
2003. |

Village of Glendale OH municipal building
This is a photo of the way the
building looked in 1872 when it was a livery stable. The
Village of Glendale restored it into their Administrative Offices in
1995 to exacting standards to reflect the original building design,
including materials.
If you would like a photo of
your city featured on our web site, please submit to Connie at
